Surrounded by her loving family, Nadine Marie Leise, 88, of Vinton, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, February 23, 2026.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Harvest 365 in Vinton, with Pastor Bryan Lund and Pastor Loren Caudill officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the church, prior to the service. Private burial will be held. Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home is caring for Nadine and her family.

Nadine was born April 6, 1937, in Manchester, the daughter of Kenneth and Evelyn (McFarland) Kelley. She earned her GED through the Kirkwood learning site in Vinton, an accomplishment she was proud to achieve later in life. Nadine was united in marriage to Thursby Leise, Bob Waterbury, and Fred Kenney, all of whom preceded her in death.

Above all else, Nadine devoted her life to her family. She was a loving mother and homemaker whose greatest joy came from caring for those she loved. Throughout the years, she also worked in a variety of roles, including the Iowa Canning Company, waitress at Carl’s Café, nursing home aide, and caregiver for several families — work that reflected her naturally compassionate and giving spirit.

Faith played an important role in Nadine’s life. In 1971, she traveled with Virgil Johnson Ministries and spent many years teaching Sunday school and Vacation Bible School at various churches. She was a dedicated member of Harvest 365 in Vinton, where her family helped “rebirth” the church community she cherished.

Nadine enjoyed arts and crafts of all kinds and treasured time spent with her family. Her life was marked by kindness, service to others, and a deep love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: LaNette Parker of Vinton, Rick (Rachel) Waterbury of Arizona, and Lisa (Lennart) Brage of Vinton; her grandchildren: Sarah, Bobby (Ronaka), Joey, Stephanie (Ben), Caitlin (Jeff), Audrey (Michael), Erik (Heidi), and Sharon; great-grandchildren: Nathan, Malachi, Zavian, Zariah, Addison, Andrew, Aydon, Alayna, Alan, Abigael, Adam, Aaron, Klaus, Evan, and Andrew; one great-great-grandson, Timothy; and brother, Harry Kelley of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her three husbands; her son, Dan Kenney; granddaughter, Amanda Parker; an infant brother; her sister, Patricia Pyle; and sister-in-law, Judy Kelley.

Memorials may be directed to the family for an established memorial fund.
