Obituaries : Lynne E. Von Weihe

Lynne E. Von Weihe, age 77, passed away peacefully to her heavenly home on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, March 23, 2026, at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall with Rev. Nick Palmer officiating.  Interment will be held at St. John Cemetery, Newhall.  Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 5:00 PM, Sunday, also at the church in Newhall.  A memorial fund has been established.

Lynne was born May 9, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, daughter of Robert and Maxine (Rouse) Bex. She graduated from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids with the class of 1966.  She was united in marriage to Kenneth Von Weihe on March 1, 1969 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids.  Lynne was a devoted wife and mother.

Lynne and Ken were active members at St. John Lutheran Church, where they were involved in Friendship Club.  Lynne was also a member of Tabitha and the flower committee.  She loved to garden, especially growing gladiolas, calla lilies, and roses.  She loved to watch the robbins from her porch.  Lynne loved her Newhall community and was involved in planning the Newhall Park Pavillion.

Lynne is survived by her loving husband Kenneth; her son Robert (Marisol) Von Weihe of Hidalgo, TX; 5 grandchildren; her brother-in-law Donald (Bonnie) Von Weihe; sister-in-law Joan Bex and 1 nephew and 4 nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother James Bex.
