Obituaries : Timothy Donald Barger

Timothy Donald Barger, 60, passed away at his home on Sunday, April 5, 2026, following a short illness.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, April 11, 2026at St Michael’s Catholic Church in Norway (512 Evergreen St, Norway, IA 52318). Interment will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Blairstown following service. Visitation will be held at St. Michael’s from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, April 10, 2026.

Tim was born June 16, 1965, at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids, to Donald “Don” and Jean “Jeanie” (Ulch) Barger. Tim was united in marriage to the love of his life, Susan “Susie” M. Becker on August 19, 1995 at Little Brown Church, Nashua. He worked as an electrician with Esco Electric for 40 years.

Tim loved his children and his wife. When his wife fell ill, he took care of her at home and always found time to attend his kid’s activities. He spent most of his time taking care of his loved ones. If you told him to do something, he would do it no questions asked. He didn’t pour his energy into stuff, he poured it into his people. He was tenderhearted, soft spoken, kind, loyal, and loving. He also loved dogs, old westerns, and Johnny Cash.

Tim is survived by his twin children, Thaddeus and Tabatha Barger; his brother Joe Barger of Cedar Rapids; his sister Nancy (Ed) Sass of Shellsburg; his nephews Donny and Tommy Sass; many other nephews and nieces, and his grand-dogs.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Jeanie; and his beloved wife, Susie.
