Larry Allen Meek, 63, of Vinton, died Saturday, May 9, 2026, at his home. Graveside services and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home is caring for Larry and his family.

Larry was born October 5, 1962, in Waterloo, the son of Joel Francis and Janet Louise (Hagge) Meek. He graduated from Dysart-Geneseo High School in 1981.

Larry enjoyed playing cards and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include two sons: Travis Meek of Traer and Tristan Winkelpleck of Waverly; three daughters: Brandi Meek of Waterloo, Keisha (Tim) Pullin of Readlyn, and Grace Winkelpleck of Waverly; six grandchildren: Kameron, Kaidon, Wesley, Alyssa, Riley, and Morgan; three great-grandchildren: Emery, Everett, Cohen, and one more on the way; his mother, Janet Meek of Vinton; sister, Diana (Dennis) Bramow of Vinton; nieces and nephews: Joshua (Lisa) Stock, Jessica (Scott) Meyer, and Kristin (Tyler) Hackbarth; his “fur buddyâ€�, Willy; and several other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joel Meek; and two brothers, Ronald D. Meek and J. Scott Meek. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
