VINTON – Lynn Dean Geiger, 78, died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Vinton on Thursday, October 18, 2012. Private family services will be held.
Lynn was born September 24, 1934, in Brandon, Iowa, the son of Glen and Edith Lint Geiger. He was raised on a farm near Brandon and attended country school.
On January 2, 1955, Lynn was united in marriage with Marion Karr.
Lynn was a car mechanic and worked at Clark Chevrolet in La Porte City. He retired on September 24, 1997, after 30 years of service.
Lynn is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marion Geiger, of Vinton; three sons: Jim (Joyce) Geiger of Eddyville; Mike (Lorene) Geiger of New Hartford; and Jack (Robin) Geiger of La Porte City; one daughter: Kelley (Bruce) Laing of Grapevine, TX; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law: Irene Geiger and Oma Geiger, both of Vinton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Arleigh, Dale and Earl Geiger; and one sister: Ila Jean Albert.
A memorial fund has been established.
