Obituaries : La Teresa (Music) Klingman

Vinton—La Teresa ( Music) Klingman, 69, died peacefully on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at her home in Vinton.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton with Rev. Stephen K. Preus officiating . There will be a private family visitation. Private family burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton.

La Teresa Marie Stein was born October 21, 1943 in Vinton to Harold and Thelma Shafer Stein. She grew up in Dysart and graduated from Dysart High School in 1962. She earned her nursing degree from Allen School of Nursing in Waterloo. In 1963 she began her47 year career at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton, retiring in 2010.

On June 23, 1972, La Teresa was united in marriage to Ken Music in Huron, S.D. The couple lived in Vinton all their married life. Ken preceded her in death on November 24, 2004. On August 21, 2010 she married Lyle Klingman and moved to Volga, IA. She was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was active in the Altar Guild. She also enjoyed being a member of PEO.

She is survived by her husband, Lyle, Volga, IA; daughter, Kim (Dave) Staab, Vinton; sons, Robert (Julia) Music, Jacksonville, FL, and Donald (Julie) Music, Coralville, IA; sister, Twylia (Duane) Chizek, Elberon, IA; stepson, Kent (Jennifer) Klingman, Strawberry Point, IA; stepdaughter, Rhonda (Craig) Fry, Yuma, AZ; six grandchildren; Michelle (Russ) Heer, Jeremy (Katie) Music, Dr. Guy (Jess) Music, Ashley (Nathan) Hesson, Nick (Amanda) Staab and Meredith Music and eight great grandchildren; Brianna and Emma Heer, James and Gwen Music, Aubrey and Alana Music and Lily Ann and Noah Hesson.

In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church or Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton.
