Clarence E. Kisling, 92, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at West Ridge Care Center in Cedar Rapids following an extended illness. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. Sixth St.) in Vinton, with the Rev. Melanie Van Weelden officiating. Interment will be at Urbana Cemetery, with graveside military rites conducted by Walter J. Meyocks American Legion Post 264 of Urbana. Visitation will be held from noon until service time Monday at the funeral home.

A memorial fund has been established.

Clarence was born March 25, 1920, in Urbana, to Fred and Mamie Mae (De Mills) Kisling. During World War II he served his nation in the U.S. Navy as a gunners mate from 1941 through 1945. Following his discharge in 1945, he was united in marriage to Norma L. Kisling in Cedar Rapids. Clarence worked as a punch press operator at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids from 1951 until retiring in 1982.

He is survived by his children, Greg Kisling of Waxahachie, Texas and Lynne (David) Berry of Marion; his grandchildren, Chase Kisling of Texas, Renee Ransdell of Cedar Rapids, Shelly (Jeff) Pearson of Marion and Teresa (David) Lockard of Marion; seven great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and his brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd (Marilyn) Benson of Urbana.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Norma in 2004; his brother, Carl Kisling; and his sister, Anna Kisling.
