VINTON: Ronnie Fiebelkorn, 74, died June 9, 2010 at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton following an extended illness.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton with Rev. Clarke E. Frederick officiating. To honor Ronnie's wishes, please attend in casual dress. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by Geo. G. Luckey American Legion Post #57 of Vinton. Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. 6th St, in Vinton from 4 to 8 PM on Friday. In Lieu of Flowers a memorial fund has been established for Trinity Lutheran Church and "Friends Of the Shelter".
Ronnie was born February 26, 1936 at Iowa City to his birth mother, Alta Eernisse and was raised by his adoptive parents, Walter and Stella (Molzen) Fiebelkorn.
He was a 1954 graduate of the Garrison High School. Ronnie served his nation in the US Army and was a member of Geo. G. Luckey American Legion Post #57 of Vinton.
For thirty-four years he was employed as a Punch Press Operator at John Deere and he retired in 2002. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Izaak Walton League, the N.R.A., and the Cedar Rapids Corvette Club. Ronnie was an avid gun collector and enjoyed motorcycles. He loved life, his family and friends and animals.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly of Vinton; his children, Rod (Lori) Fiebelkorn of Amana, and Renee (Bob) Patava of Vinton; his grandchildren. Jordan (Rina) Fiebelkorn, Stephen Fiebelkorn and friend, Mandy, twins Ronald and Robert Patava and Brandon Patava.
He was preceded in death by his adoptive parents and his birth mother.
