VINTON:
Lily Vogt Bearbower, 86, died Monday, February 11, 2013 at Virginia Gay hospital following an extended illness.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark C. Urlaub officiating. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton. Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. 6th St. in Vinton, from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
A memorial fund has been established with the Virginia Gay Hospital Foundation for CNA Scholarships.
Lily was born February 9, 1927 in Vinton to Albert and Anna (Johnson) Anderson and graduated from Lincoln High School in Vinton.
On August 3, 1947 she was united in marriage to Donald W. Vogt in Vinton. He preceded her in death in 1988. She was united in marriage to Earl Bearbower on November 1, 1997 in Vinton and he preceded her in death in 2009.
Lily was employed at Virginia Gay Hospital as a Nurses Aid for 37 years. She was a long time member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Vinton, the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #57 of Vinton and the Vinton Lutheran Home Auxiliary. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters Linda (Rusty) Thomsen and Donna (John) Watson of Vinton, Barb (Rich) Hill of Waterloo; son Mark (Lisa) Vogt of Vinton; grandchildren Tony Thomsen, Annette (Ron Lamphier) Thomsen; Jason and Raquel Watson; Corey (Suzanne) Dripps, Amber Dripps-Larson; Hunter, Edee and Kody Vogt; great-grandchildren, Patrick and Alex Thomsen; Ashley Novotny; Jax, Logan and JolieMae Watson; Takoda, Madison, Lily, and Brayton Dripps; Coby Larson; Kaitlyn and Madison Lamphier; her brother, John A. Anderson and fiancée Dottie Anthony of Vinton; her sisters-in-law Norma Jean Anderson and Sharlene Anderson; her mother-in-law Ruby Bearbower and step-son Gary (Bev) Bearbower.
In addition to her parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Elsie Matthews, Hazel Thompson and Mabel Kanke; and two brothers, George and Carl Anderson; and step-daughter, Jenise Rhode.
