Obituaries : Rozella Marie Close

Rozella Marie Close, 62, passed away at her Wylie, Texas, residence on February 5, 2013. She was born in Waterloo, Iowa, on January 5, 1951. Her parents were the late John and Nell (Yarrow) Schmitz. Rozella met the love of her life, Eugene Close and they were married April 24, 1971, in La Porte City, Iowa.

Rozella ran a day care out of her home for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Wylie.

Surviving Rozella is her husband of 41 years, Eugene Close; children, Jeffrey Martin Close and wife Heather, Amy Michelle Welby and husband Marc and William John Close; and one grandson, Garrett Michael Welby. Also surviving Rozella is her sister, Marilyn Dunkleburger; and six brothers, Richard Schmitz, Donald Schmitz, Delbert Schmitz, Daniel Schmitz, Larry Schmitz and Joseph Schmitz.

Visitation was held at Allen Funeral Home on Friday, February 8, 2013. Rosary was also conducted on Friday, February 08, 2013. Memorial mass was held for her at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Saturday, February 9, 2013. Father Andrew Semner officiated. Burial was held at Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery. Funeral services were under the direction of Allen Funeral Home.
