Obituaries : Kody E. Corum

Kody E. Corum, 19, of Palo, a 2012 graduate of Vinton-Shellsburg High School, died Thursday March 7, 2013 in Cedar Rapids.

Services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids. Rev. Mark Leckband will officiate. Burial with military rites at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM on Monday.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Kimberly and Jim Draker of Palo; sister Madison Draker who is a student at Iowa Central College in Ft. Dodge; brother Colton Draker at home; grandfather Howard Corum of Palo; grandmother Sharon Kreutner of Shellsburg; grandparents Charles and Betty Draker of Cedar Rapids as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Kody cherished each and every one of them as they did of him. He was preceded in death by his father Kelly, grandmother Carolyn Corum and grandfather Robert Kreutner.

Kody was born on November 1, 1993 in Cedar Rapids the son of Kelly and Kimberly (Kreutner) Corum and graduated from Vinton-Shellsburg High School class of 2012. He was currently a student at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids.

He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Shellsburg, the Ray and Virginia Boyer American Legion Post No.166 in Shellsburg, and the Army National Guard Medical Unit # 209 in Iowa City.

Kody enjoyed life to its fullest, snowmobiling, playing video games, watching movies, tubing and most of all the time he spent with his family and many many friends. Kody was a loving, generous, and kind person to everyone he met. He was involved with his community and his beloved family. He will be greatly missed by all.
