SHELLSBURG: Raymond A. Clemen, 44 of Hiawatha and formerly of Shellsburg died Sunday, April 7, 2013 at the St. Luke’s Hospice Inpatient Unit in Cedar Rapids following a battle with esophageal cancer.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Phillips Family Center, 605 Second Avenue in Vinton. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Shellsburg. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 PM on Tuesday also at the family center. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
Raymond was born October 23, 1968 at Manchester to Charles “Chuck” and Clara (Avis) Clemen. He worked as an auto mechanic for Midwest Imports and was a sheet-rock finisher.
In his leisure, Raymond enjoyed building and driving Demo Derby Cars where he won many trophies. He also enjoyed fishing and ice-fishing in Northern Minnesota and mushroom hunting.
He is survived by his mother, Clara (Larry) Hootman who are full-time RVing; his father, Charles “Chuck” Clemen of Backus, Minnesota; his daughters, Brittany R. Clemen of Cedar Rapids, Tea Lynch of Kentucky and Jennifer Land of Cedar Rapids; his three grandchildren, Autmn, Gabby and Ben; his brothers, Larry Clemen of Pine River, Minnesota and Clinton Clemen of Milford; and his mother-in-law, dear friend and caregiver, Irene (John) Leeson of Hiawatha.
