Opinion : The good things in life aren\'t free

I know, we've asked, but we really need your help to support Vinton Today.

Four years into this venture we are still discovering costs that we had forgotten to consider.

In setting up the website, and the daily email, we were in a hurry to launch this baby and get it into your hands and onto your desktops, and now back into your hands on your mobile devices.

We did what needed to be done to make that possible and only when new credit cards were issued and our email didn't go out for a couple days this week, did we realize there was yet another expense we had forgotten to figure in.

The good things in life aren't free they say, and Vinton Today MUST be in that category!

We are on our way to covering our expenses, but again, we are still short of what we need.

Remember, we NEVER charge you to read our stories. We have tossed around the idea of charging to read our site, but we are still holding on to the idea that our readers will be happy to support this adventure. We are here 365 days a week (yes even the holidays most times) and most of the time your stories that you send in are seen by our readers within minutes but at the least within 24 hours.

We don't have boxes sitting around town where you have to pay to get the news, we don't charge you at the store to read our news, we sure don't charge you when a loved one dies and you need to get word out, we don't charge for classifieds and we often donate advertising for events that benefit the community like Party in the Park, the Party in Pink 5K, and ACT I just to name a few.

If all of our readers simply sent in a little we wouldn't have to keep asking and asking..

So if you are here today, and haven't sent in a donation, PLEASE do that as soon as you can.

Don't forget, you can even set up a payment through your bank and schedule it to come in each year, automatically!

But please, whatever you can do to cover the costs of this website,please do it today!
