Opinion : Nope, still not the newspaper, still not the \'newspaper guy\'

After 5 years, almost, we have had another influx of people that think we are "the newspaper".

A couple things have happened this week that had me thinking maybe we need to say something, again.

So, after existing for a mere 5 years, and after a mere 13 MILLION hits, it's time to break this news to you.

We are not, no more, not, not at all, not either, in no way, not even in the slightest little bit associated with any newspapers.

Vinton Today is a community minded news source. We are here to help you out any way we can.

See, if you call us to have a newspaper stopped, (which we are not, no more, not, not at all, not either, in no way, not even in the slightest little bit associated) we can't help you.

If you call us to come and take a picture of your event, and you think we are putting it on the website as well as in a newspaper, which we are not, no more, not, not at all, not either, in no way, not even in the slightest little bit associated with, we will happily take your picture and are thrilled to put the WHOLE story on our website so you can share it with all of your friends on Facebook or via email.

IF you contact me to put an ad on our website and ask me to also run it in a newspaper...well, you can be sure that while running your ad on the website, it will be seen MORE TIMES, than if you simply ran it in, say a newspaper...which we are not, no more, not, not at all, not either, in no way, not even in the slightest little bit associated with.

One of the most fun Dean has had has been in covering the Honor Flights. When he has the chance to do this, the silly guy has the idea that just about every one of those veterans has a story that needs to be told. He will come home, and spend days typing those stories up, researching what newspaper is associated with each veteran and will send those stories out. That is something that we do FOR OTHER newspapers, which...we are not, no more, not, not at all, not either, in no way, not even in the slightest little bit associated with.

See, we look at this whole news thing in a different way than a newspaper...altogether now, which we are not, no more, not, not at all, not either, in no way, not even in the slightest little bit associated with.

We have figured out that the story isn't about us, it's about everyone else out there.

We want you our readers to be happy.

We feel like YOU are why we are here.

The difference is this.

If you call a newspaper...

which we are not, no more, not, not at all, not either, in no way, not even in the slightest little bit associated with

we won't get your message.

If you e-mail us at a newspaper,

which we are not, no more, not, not at all, not either, in no way, not even in the slightest little bit associated with

you won't find us there.

If you want to talk to Dean,

When you want your ad to be seen, and I mean, REALLY seen, don't even consider calling a newspaper because hey, you have only ONE shot for people to see it!

One of the tricks to advertising, is to put your business advertising where people will see it, over, and over, and over...which would be HERE and NOT a newspaper...which we are not, no more, not, not at all, not either, in no way, not even in the slightest little bit associated with.
