This last weekend I had an unexpected visit with an old friend.

It was one of those things when you look across the room and say, "Hey, that's.....! I haven't seen him in...." then you start adding frantically to see how long it's been, then you figure it out again and say, it can't POSSIBLE have been that long ago! But it was.

It had been some 30+ years since I had last seen Gary. I believe he had come back to Vinton for a Class Reunion, but also had family here too.

So anyway, we both ended up in a building that didn't even exist the last time we had seen each other, with a group of people that hadn't been in my circle of friends back then either, and I'm thinking, what are the chances?

We finally had a chance to visit and try to quickly put together what had been happening over the last 30 years, answer some questions about people we both knew, and that I still knew from that era.

He caught me up on what had been happening in his life and I in mine.

It was just a fun visit. So I guess the moral of the story is, when you are going through life, remember where you've been, eventually your path will cross with those you meet now, when they do, take a few minutes to catch up with each other, you will be glad you did!
