Dear Editor, We Iowans need to invest in Iowa if we expect to get anything profitable and satisfying back. The 40 acres of the former Braille School now being offered by the State of Iowa to the City of Vinton for one dollar is enough to build an NFL football stadium with a retractable roof. Figuring 40 acres for the stadium, 18 acres for parking and 11 usable buildings with an indoor swimming pool, connecting tunnels and water tower already there, the site could be recycled for public benefit by selling shares to the state's passionately loyal football fans following the model of the Green Bay Packers. For example, our team could be called "The Iowa Porkers" and possibly host an annual "Pork Chop Bowl" where we could lick our chops for new recruits giving first preference to athletes born or trained in Iowa. If a stadium is not built in centrally located Vinton, it could be built elsewhere in Iowa on discardable public land. I would invest $100-$200 for a share. Would you? Jeanne Swift
