Just look at the venom of Linsey and Gould! These leftist - may I say Maxist Socialist, want us on the other side to shut up. They are the ones who wish to end the 1st and 2nd Amendments. They rarely if ever discuss the issues raised, but demonize the messenger. Shame on you! Antifa is a mirror image of the Brown Shirt Nazis of the 1930's - Black Lives Matter has heads that are admittedly trained Marxist. Who funds them? George Soros with an arm's length foundation - rumor has it Tom Steyer the same. Both Anti - American. Keep on writing you are showing exactly where your allegiances are! All lives matter including those unborn!!!

GB July 10, 2020, 1:18 pm The case in reference is actually "District of Columbia v. Heller" and not the other way around. It focused on the District of Columbia Firearms Control Regulation Act of 1975 requiring that all handguns be banned and any legally owned rifles and shotguns be kept unloaded and disassembled or bound by a trigger lock. It did not cover the Due Process Clause of the 14th Amendment. Further, the District of Columbia v. Heller was inaccurately represented in the entire context of the case by Mr. Linsey. The Supreme Court did NOT side with the District of Columbia on gun control. It found that the Firearms Control Regulations Act of 1975 infringe an individual's right to bear arms as protected by the Second Amendment.

If you hadn't (probably on purpose) misspelled what you called me in that rubbish, you would be in for a lot of trouble. I am absolutely not against either of the 1A or 2A, and your accusation of being of a far right ideology is disgraceful. As a letter of fact, this is a post I recently made on a social media platform: ________________________________________ Not-so BREAKING NEWS: The United States of America will NEVER have a Socialist or Communist government! The Democratic Party has soundly defeated Bernie Sanders' attempt to take us there, in the last two election cycles. The absolute only way a democracy can remain healthy, is to have both, a legitimate Liberal and Conservative Party in control. Right now we still have the Liberal side of that. But, what used to be the Conservative side, has been lost to a far right (alt-right as Steve Bannon calls it) insurgent. Most of those Conservatives have branched off of the misguided party and formed a group called Project Lincoln. They are the part of the party that refused to get brainwashed by Fox News, Breitbart and the ilk. _______________________________________ I'm not even going to address your accusation of the 1A. I have the utmost respect for every word in it. It is you that has failed to even understand what the Freedom of Speech clause means. As far as the 2nd Amendment goes. I have NEVER even implied that the 2A needs to be removed from our Constitution. It's part of what this country was founded upon. The only opinion that I ever share on that is based on Justice Scalia's (your former King Justice) majority opinion on Heller v District of Columia. He wrote in his opinion that: "the right to bear arms is not unlimited and that guns and gun ownership would continue to be regulated". I trust that you know what those words mean. But, if you have any questions about it, I would certainly be glad to write it slower for you. Again, your accusations in this "Opinion" piece of yours, are FLAT OUT LIES! I find it extremely hard to understand your logic, while knowing (as I've told you) that I was a proud Republican for the first 17 years of my voting life.(I'm still very much a fiscal conservative). You are living proof of the reason that I left the party. You only know how to hate people that don't look or think like you. How many lies of yours have I corrected in the last several months? Ya see, I've never even considered to pound my beliefs into a community through print or cyber media like you. Because I totally agree with everything the 1st Amendment says. It's you that doesn't believe in a free press or the freedom to assemble.

NG July 6, 2020, 2:57 pm John, there you go again putting words in my mouth. I never said shut up to you or anyone else. I believe very strongly in the first and second amendments. Where did you ever get the idea that I didn't? Again I ask you to stop putting words in my mouth like that because that is lying. I never said anything like that. Yes I believe black lives matter and I believe all lives matter but it is black lives that are in jeopardy at the present time. All you have to do is stop at look at the video of George Floyd being murdered to realize that and the other black lives that have been lost since he was murdered. If you can't acknowledge that then I have nothing more to say. Norma Gould
