Biden/Harris wins:

It’s over, the election is already won. No need for further campaigning, right?, it’s in the bag. How can a braggadocious, insulting, egocentric, etc., etc. - buffoon win against all the headwinds of Academia, Hollywood, Pundits, opinion writers, main stream media, and overturn the “old order”. Obama called the supporters “bitter clingers to the guns and bibles and then Hillary called them “basket of deplorables” characterized by “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic” views. So they - supporters are – forgotten by the “swamp rats”. Past supporters can look forward to losing their oil field jobs, fracking jobs, petrochemical jobs, cosmetic makers jobs, herbicides maker jobs, insecticide maker jobs. Geez! Is there anything left? Oh yeah, all diesel electric locomotives, diesel tractor trailers, diesel farm equipment, hydrocarbon fueled aircraft and automobiles all gone; thousands of dollars in investment gone like smoke in the wind. It is also promised that gun owners will lose their Second Amendment rights to personal security and property protection, Religious will lose their First Amendment right to freely practice their faith. Tax payers will lose expanded standard deduction and expanded dependent child benefits and will get higher marginal tax rates. Win, win for all – right. Naahh! Be careful what you wish for – you just might get it.

GB November 1, 2020, 10:59 pm John is absolutely correct to be concerned and Norma has bought into the commercials for Biden. Anyone who believes their taxes won’t go up (even if you make less than $400,000) is as much a fool as Biden himself. That guy doesn’t even know what state he is in most of the time. Everyone is scared to death of COVID but the mortality rate for the flu every single year is four times that of COVID and when was the last time we shut down Iowa or the entire country for the flu??? Oh and before the “Liberals” start arguing about social distancing at Trump Rallys, schools, sporting events and everything else, I will remind each one of you how silent you all were on the subject during the organized riots (not protests) and every BLM rally to incite rioting. John is right and everyone should be very concerned about the threat of Socialism to this country. It isn’t the guns or even taxes that will be under The greatest threat. The Constitutional rights that every citizen will also be on the table. We will also go back to energy dependence on OPEC and $4 a gal gasoline, likely a lot higher. If Biden wins, the working class will be drastically hurt by his policies. He did nothing to actually help anyone outside his family for over 47 years! It doesn’t take a person with the mental capacity much greater than a head of cabbage to understand what John has said is correct.

NG October 29, 2020, 7:54 pm Poor John, all worried about someone coming to get your guns again. You worried for 8 years when President Obama was in office that he was coming for your guns. Did he ever knock on your door? I know that he didn't and Joe won't either. Don't worry about your damn guns and the 2nd amendment. Believe it or not the Democrats believe in the 2nd amendment. We wish there was some regulation in that area but we believe in the right to bare arms, really, calm down. I don't know where you got that crazy comment about religious rights. Joe has NO intention of taking away any ones rights to worship. What the hell were you thinking? As far as taxes any one who makes over $400,000 a year will have to pay their fair share and I thing it is about time. I think it is time someone like trump has to pay more than $750.00 in Federal taxes in a year. If Joe wins he has a plan for taking care of the virus. He will not say it is gone like trump has been saying. It is not gone, it is increasing and more people are dying and still trump says it is over. He is unfit to hold office because he doesn't know what he is doing. There are many many many Republicans who have gotten smart and said they will vote for Joe. Norma Gould

RB October 29, 2020, 2:42 pm They didn't come for your guns under Obama. Well, I don't feel safe with armed militia walking the streets with assault rifles. Maybe we can address that and have universal background checks. Why would law-abiding gun owner be afraid of that? I still go to the same church and really doubt religious freedom is in jeopardy. John, you do realize religious freedom means it can be a religion other than Christianity, right? If you make under 400,000 you won't receive a tax increase. I feel safer about my social security under Biden and also Medicare and health care in general. I don't even need to mention Covid-19. Everyone knows Trump was an utter failure in managing the virus. Wind energy is really strong in Iowa. Seems like it was a good investment. We need a change and ned it badly. The only thing I can think of for a slogan is Trump for jail in 2020.

SL October 29, 2020, 2:08 pm Was the world so bad under the moderate Obama? Incremental compromises from the middle are considered traitorous. Is this the end of the world you are predicting? It seems your fear mongering is eatng at us all. The constant call to arms scares the undecideds and independents. We'll see very soon, wont we??
