The truckers, those mad, terrorists, the racist, thugs, had to go and start a convoy. The silly truckers think that it's time to lift mandates.
Oh yes, they did. For more than 2 years these people have carted our toilet paper from sea to shining sea. They've made deliveries 24/7 and then the pansy of a man Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau decided that he's had enough. With all his curls in place, with the help of his hairspray delivered by a trucker, he decided he was going to put his shiny leather shoed foot down, oh yes he did.
He raked the opposition over the coals for backing these truckers. He called them names. He pointed out how this 13-day protest was making life difficult for businesses. He said that they are hurting the economy. He said that they didn't care about anyone else. Yeah, he really said that. It's a lot like a cheating husband telling everyone how to be faithful. I mean you just have to cock your head while you do the math on that.
Trudeau pointed out over and over that 90% of the population of Canada has had at least one dose of the vaccine. 90% of the truckers are vaccinated. So for 10% of the population, he insists on being a manchild. He's crossing his arms and stomping his foot. You WILL bow to me, he keeps saying.
Finally, the real men and women of Canada put down their beer, packed their bags, kissed the wife and kids goodbye, or brought them along and said, "Wanna bet?"
Of course, politicians and the media got out the notes from January 6, blew off the dust, and got out the talking points. "It's a threat to democracy, it's a cult, a nationwide insurrection driven by madness, etc, so on and so forth, blah, blah, blah." Yada, yada, yada.
In this protest I notice one obvious thing. The crowd there is nothing like the protests we've seen in our country over the last 6 years. There aren't buildings on fire, there aren't stores being vandalized. There isn't people screaming on camera. It really is a peaceful protest. I watched as three officers tried to explain to their board, who must be in charge of telling the cops how to do their job, how laws work. The board of course thinks that a few cops can clear the streets and all the people there in a few hours.
Repeatedly the officers tried to explain that three things are working against them. First, they don't have laws to address what they should do with this kind of event and they can't just make up laws. Secondly, they explained that sometimes doing nothing is better than poking the bear. Thirdly, it's hard to move 80,000-pound semis and they just don't have the equipment.
Now understand, the truckers aren't there to protest vaccines. They are there protesting mandates. For some reason, truckers feel like that's just crossing the line. I have no idea what mandates they have in Canada, but I know if you have semi's clogging your street over a political move, maybe you should pull up in your chauffeured car and say, "Hey fellas, can we talk?"
Get online, look for a Livestream by guys out there with their phones, just walking for hours and *gasp* talking to the truckers on the streets. So far I've seen a lady who immigrated to Canada from Poland that was bringing food from her bakery. Her message was that she had lost her freedom in Poland, and is seeing it being taken away in Canada. She decided that she was going to fight back with food from the business she started. Another man from Iran said the same thing. He came from Toronto to stand with the truckers. He said he lost his freedom in Iran and didn't want to lose it again in Canada. These are people who have lived this before.
I had to chuckle. One of the cameramen said, that he was still trying to process what he was seeing on the street and what is being told on the news every day. He is under the impression that the media is lying. Hmmm, not that I'm surprised. I've seen the behind-the-scenes of camera crews. I've seen the same story covered twice. One with facts, on one channel and the other with drama. It's too much trouble to make up a story, just tell the facts in a paragraph if you have to, but please, stick to the facts.
The thought hasn't crossed the political pansies' minds to go out and talk to the truckers or listen to the man on the street. Nope. They are just too good for that. They are the elite. The people out on the street have been labeled ignorant.
These "terrorists/racists/insurrectionists" are out cleaning the streets, bagging their trash, feeding anyone and everyone that stops in. They are walking their babies, setting up bouncy houses and of course, we can't have that.
See the man in the picture here? That's my dad. A trucker. He drove for 4 or 5 different trucking companies over several decades. He ruined his health by not sleeping enough. When he was home he still couldn't sleep. Yep, his health was shot for a profession he loved. He enjoyed backing his big rig into a tight spot, just so that he could brag about it I think. He got his hands dirty every single day, bringing supplies to the country. He laughed every time a little kid pumped the air asking for a loud blast of his air horn. He was a man's man.
He would have had a blast at this "riot/insurrection." Yes, he would have. He would've been out there shoveling snow off the streets, picking up trash, although I think he'd have trouble finding any, apparently all of the truckers are neat freaks. He'd be helping anyone that broke down. Yep, he would've probably driven his big right to the front door of parliament and gone in if he could have.
Poor Justin would've felt threatened no doubt by my dad's brash way of saying, "That is enough." He would have no doubt shown up in a ratty shirt, a pair of jeans stained with grease from his 5th wheel. He would have had on a ball cap and a well-worn winter coat. He would've worn his work boots into parliament, the same ones that had climbed in and out of a semi for decades. Well, he would've looked like this. This was him on a good day. When he had pulled in after being away from home for a couple of weeks.
He wouldn't have probably said anything else, or done anything. But I know Justin would've taken one look and screamed like a little girl whose big brother just dangled a worm in her face.
I think what the truckers are saying is, "come down off your pedestal and talk to the people affected by your mandates." They aren't causing trouble, they're even leaving a lane open so that people can still get through town. These people are the ones that would give you the shirt off their back. They simply want to be heard.
Trudeau, all he's got is politics. If he were smart, oh who am I kidding. He believes himself to be the all powerful Prime Minister, and he is...until the trucks stop rolling.

Editors note: Nope, to me a pansy when referring to a man is a guy like Trudeau who has probably never done a hard day’s work in his life. Or someone who is too afraid to leave his golden tower to talk to the man on the street.
It’s too bad that this even crossed your mind.
Trudeau has declared Marshall Law against my fellow countrymen. May my fellow countrymen be protected against such evil attacks against their God-given liberty.
