Tonight we had our usual weekly music practice. It consists of 2 mothers with 2 daughters each, a single guy, and another gal.

We usually have a great time practicing our music, and go home on cloud nine...sometimes not so much, but usually!

It's kind of fun to watch other mother and daughters interact.

Tonight the one of the mothers said to her older daughter, "Do you feel okay?"

Daughter: "What? Are you trying to say I don't look good? Thanks mom!"

Later the same mom said to the group that we were going to cut a song.

Daughter #2 said, "Sure, you're really saying you want me to do a solo, I don't do solos!"

Both times mom had this bewildered look in her eyes that spoke volumes to me.

It was saying, "What just happened here? I was simply concerned about my daughter's well being, and cutting a song!"

Of course a daughter of the other mother, spoke up and said, "Yeah, when I was pregnant, everyone said, I didn't look big, but MOM said..."

I of course piped up and said, "What I was TRYING to say was..." then I stopped. I remembered how this went for the other mom.

I wonder how many times I did that with my mom. I THOUGHT I knew what she was saying, but I bet I missed it.

So to my kids, boys and girls, off spring and new additions...this means exactly what I am going to type.

"I love you, always, no matter what, you're always great, and I'm proud of whatever you decide you want to do with your lives...always pulling for you!"

Now can all the kids out there, young and old give us moms a break?

K April 18, 2011, 2:15 pm As the other mother, can I hear an Amen? I DO love you, always, no matter what! I speak, often, out of concern, casting caution to the wind.
