Dear Editor:
I have to respond to a recent answer to a letter. How dare anyone state that “Cops weren’t being beaten” on January 6th, 2021. If you want to spread misinformation and lies about Jan. 6th, go ahead but do not claim to “back the blue” and then deny what happened to law-enforcement that day. That is insulting and a disgrace.
SG where were you on January 6th, 2021? I was watching TV when Trump said “and we fight like hell, and if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore” before the rioters left for the Capitol at Trump’s urging.
I saw the thousands of people at the Capitol steps forcing their way into the Capitol with any weapons they could find including flag poles, tasers, clubs, and guns from beaten officers. I saw the members of Congress running out of the chambers away from the rioters, I saw other members of Congress hiding under their desks and seats with gas masks ready to put on. I saw others placing anything they could against the doors including desks, chairs, tables, to keep the rioters out. I saw officer Daniel Hodges screaming for his life from being squeezed between doors telling the rioters that he has children.
All of us heard when Trump sent out a tweet declaring Mike Pence would not stop the certification of the election. That is when the crowd chanted “hang Mike Pence” I heard that live as it was happening.  That is when the mob really turned violent. I saw the crowd inside the tunnel pushing and hitting officers. Finally, Trump told the crowd how much love he had for the rioters but it was time to stop and that was hours after it had started.
SG did you even bother to watch any of the video from that day, did you watch the J6 investigation? Probably not, but you will believe every conspiracy that FOX, Newmax, OANN, and MAGA will say and believe them totally. The rest of it is all lies?
Now to my thorough disgust of those saying officers were not injured. The police union reported that 140 officers were reported injured, some severe, some not as bad. It is not light reporting that Brian Sicknick lost his life from complications from his injuries resulting in a heart attack. It is not to make light of four other officers who suffered from PTSD who then took their own lives.
Tell officers Michael Fanone, Aquilino Gonell, Caroline Edwards, Harry Dunn, Daniel Hodges who testified under oath at the J6 Investigations that they were not injured. And don’t tell me I did not see what I saw on TV and many, many times since then that they were not injured.
You can believe anything you want but it stops when you cancel out those officer’s injuries because you choose to believe lies about that day. I challenge anyone who thinks that officers were not injured on January 6 to check out these links of officers detailing what they experienced and then tell me it is all a lie. (The linkswork better if you copy and paste into the search bar)

You are making less sense as time goes by. "Protect our youth?" What does that have to do with denying Jan. 6th officers being injured?

There are officers injured by the leftist riots as well. They deserve our thoughts as well.
Law enforcement is not the enemy of good order. Get the criminal element out. Gone is good. Protect our youth.
