Vinton-Shellsburg football players and coaches traveled to Pella Wednesday, as they began what Head Coach Jim Womochil says he wants to make an annual tradition: Participating in the Team Camp at Central Colllege in Pella.

"It's an intense camp, led by colleges coaches and includes some strong varsity teams from around the state," said Womochil. Approximately 12 high schools from around Iowa, including Williamsburg, Atlantic and Des Moines Dowling, are expected to participate.

The camp includes 7-on-7 drills and focuses on interior run offense and defense, as well as a variety of speed and strength training drills.

The players will stay in dorm rooms on the Central campus; camp ends Friday.
