Sports : VS cross country athletes receive honors

Vinton-Shellsburg cross country athletes received All-Conference and team awards during the team's wrap-up.

Girls Lily Horst, Bristi Gerber and Cassie Kenney earned First-Team All-Wamac honors. For the boys, Jordan Evans and Derek Dinderman were named to the Second Team while Nolan Sagan received Honorable Mention.

VS runners were represented well on the Wamac All-Academic team. Those honorees included: Aaron Ohlsen, Rachel Gordon, Kayla Taylor, Kylie Miracle, Sara Jorgensen, Wyatt Meyer, Nolan Sagan, Jordan Evans, Derek Dinderman, Riley Ries, Olivia Oltrogge, Benjamin Hyland and Jacob Isbell. Nolan Sagan earned a spot on the State All-Academic Cross Country Team.
