The Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings swept Waverly-Shell Rock, 4-2, and 9-2, Tuesday night in Vinton.

Kody Seaton, Bryce Burroughs and Taylor Leyden pitched in Game 1. Carson Struve pitched all seven innings in Game 2.

Tuesday was also Parents Night. The players and their parents were introduced at home plate between games.

The wins give the Vikings a 4-game winning streak heading into district play in Vinton on Friday. The Vikings play Independence while Union competes against Center Point-Urbana. The two winners will compete to see which team advances to play in the Sub-State game in Van Horne. The Vikings are hoping to repeat their three-game success last year, which sent them to the State Tournament in Des Moines.
