Sports : Martin Wins the 2015 VCC Men’s Club Championship

It was a cool and very windy day for the Vinton Country Club Men’s Championship were Matt Martin defended his title winning the Tournament with a 3 over par 73, edging out Shane Scott by 2 strokes.

Scott cut a 4 stroke deficit down to 1 stroke with 2 holes to play, but Martin birdied the par four 17th hole to help propel him to the Championship.

Andrew Washburn ran away with the Handicap Championship by 5 strokes over Ryan Allsup, netting a 64.72.

There were a total of 34 Golfers participating this year, and the top 10 plus 2 Captain’s picks will represent the VCC in Belle Plaine for the 2015 Cedar Valley Ryder cup this Sunday, August 30th.
