Sports : VS Night with C.R. Rampage soccer team, Dec. 19

When the Cedar Rapids Rampage soccer team hosts the St. Louis Ambush this Saturday, Dec. 19, a group of Shellsburg Elementary 5th graders will sing the National Anthem.

Shellsburg Principal Ryan Davis said a dozen fifth graders will sing 'The Star-Spangled Banner" before the 7:05 game at the U.S. Cellular Center as part of Vinton-Shellsburg night. The team offers a buy-one, get one free ticket deal for V-S students and faculty. District residents will also be invited to be part of the Rampage "Fan Tunnel."

"I am delighted the students have this opportunity. They sounded fantastic at their rehearsal yesterday," said director Lois Martin.
