It's nice to finally have the first meet of the season, but these weren't spring-like conditions. However, the girls stuck it out on a course no one had played before. Senior Olivia Walker managed a fine 16 putts on fast, sloped greens and snared medalist honors. She was the only one to break 20 putts. Our scores were very consistent; we will be working on lowering both putts and scores. There is an adage that every stroke counts and that was never more evident than tonight!
Abbe Wilson and Lindsey Miller played JV with two players from each of the other schools. Both shot solid rounds.
Next week will be busy with three away meets, Tuesday at South Tama and Thursday at Independence. Our first varsity tournament will be at Tara Hills April16 hosted by Benton Community.
