This was the first 18 hole event of the season and the V-S girls emerged as champions! Each girl brought home a medal and the team championship trophy! This is Lauren Tandy's second consecutive year to cop medalist honors with 44-42. Rachel Tandy (49-46) and Olivia Walker (50-47) also earned medals. I was pleased with our scores and improved putting. Lauren recorded two birdies during the second round, on holes 7 and 9; she also recorded low putts for the day. The team shot 195, 187; the 187 is our lowest nine hole score this season. Each girl dropped strokes her second round or stayed the same. Brandi Gerber improved by 11 strokes over last year's rounds. Emily Blake played her first varsity round; Alex Maynard shot a strong 49 her second nine! We enjoyed great weather and great golf!
Tuesday we host a quadrangular with Clear Creek-Amana, Marion and Williamsburg. Thursday we host Don Bosco and Benton Community. Both will be played at the Vinton Country Club.
