Sports : Vikings win South Tama Tourney

The Vikings were at South Tama this weekend and carded a 314 to win the Invitational at Tama-Toledo Country Club. Benton Community was second coming in with a 320. Columbus Catholic was third with 327 while Grinnell carded a 336 to take fourth place. South Tama placed fifth shooting 385 and HLV finished sixth coming in with a 410. Ankeny Christian Academy was also there but did not field enough golfers for a team score. The Vikings raise record to 35-4.

Tyler Stueck and Grant Noren had to play an extra two hole to decide the medalist because they both came in with four over 74’s. Tyler won the medalist on the second playoff hole making Grant the runner-up medalist. Mike DeLong carded an 82 with Austin Bohnsack coming in with an 84 to finish the Varsity score. Bryce Shaw shot 89 and Tanner Cummings came in with 92.
