This was a huge change in golf courses from Tuesday's conference meet at Timberline in Peosta. Airport National is a shorter course with no par 5s and far less trees and water. Our team shot the best nine hole score I've ever had a group shoot: 155 on the back nine! My records indicate a previous best 9 holes score of 171 was shot in 2013 by Erin Randall, Natalie Ketchen, Cara Hach and Mara Jessen at Wildcat Golf Course.
We lost only to 5A schools; V-S is 4A for girls golf. Lindsey Miller had only 30 putts for her 18 holes. It was a day filled with smiles and great scores; I think everyone of our team members shot a personal best! I was extremely happy and proud of our team effort.
Saturday we will compete at the annual South Tama Invitational at the Tama Golf Course. We have no scheduled meets next week. Regionals will be hosted by Waverly on May 23rd.
