The Vikings won their district tournament Wednesday at the Amana Colonies Golf Club to advance to the state tournament May 26th and 27th at Spring Valley Golf Course. Tyler Stueck led the Vikings carding an 82 and winning medalist honors. Tyler won the medal beating Dalton Myers from Washington who qualified for state as an individual. Austin Bohnsack and Mike DeLong finished tied for 5th place with 85’s. Bryce Shaw turned in a 93 to finish the scoring. Grant Noren came in with a 99 and Tanner Cummings finished with a 101.

The course played very long and was tough on the field as many teams struggled to manage the course. The Vikings advance to state turning in a 345 ahead of Mount Vernon who also advances to state with 350. Washington was third also with a 350. Benton Community was 4th with a 363 and Keokuk was 5th with 386. Landon Pace of Benton Community qualified for state as an individual placing 4th turning in an 84.

The Vikings improve to 59-6 and will travel next week to Spring Valley Golf Course in Livermore.
