Scott Hogan does not know how many fans voted for him, but on Friday he learned that enough of them did for him to earn a spot among the 30 drivers for the Sept. 9 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational modified race in boon.

On the day that Scott and Jolyne are celebrating the birthday of their son, Drew -- whose initial inspired the "D" in Scott's 33D racing machine -- Scott got the call telling him he is in.

This will be the third time in 13 years that Hogan has qualified for the race, which features some of the most successful dirt track drivers in the country.

The 13th annual Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational pays $1,000 to win and a minimum of $200 to start.
