Jordan Yessak, the Vinton native who finished his career running at Dunkerton High School (where his father Jason was a coach, teacher and AD before taking a similar job in Keokuk) ended his high school track career at the State meet. Jordan had qualified for three events. On Thursday he competed in the 3200M, placing 13th in Class 1A with a time of 10:01, the 2nd-fastest time of his career. His fastest time was last week at the District meet, where he broke his own record 10:00.93. On Friday he ran the anchor leg on the Dunkerton distance medley relay team. He ran a 2:00 flat 800 to help his team win their heat, get 7th place overall and break another school record. On Saturday, Jordan prepared himself to run in his last high school competition, the 1600M. "He went out and left it all on the track as he ran a 4:37.50," says his mom, Anita. "He re-broke his own personal record he set last year at State. "Itwas a wonderful three days." Jordan will attend Wartburg College and be a member of its men's track team next year.
