Although the first games of the 2017 high school football season are still more than three months away, the 8th graders who plan to play for the VSHS freshman team have already begun the process of becoming introduced to Viking coaches and the program.
On Tuesday, more than a dozen eighth graders signed Letters of Intent to play for the VSHS program. The Letter of Intent process, which many high schools have adopted in the past few years, is designed to increase participation while introducing incoming freshmen to their coaches and giving them some idea of what to expect in high school and how to prepare.
The Viking varsity season begins at Center Point-Urbana and ends with a game at Benton Community.The 2017 schedule includes:
