Sports : Harrelson, Wood lead VS bowlers in first home meet of season

By Amber Pattee, VS Bowling Coach The Vinton-Shellsburg High School bowlers competed for the first time this season at their home site, Berry's Lanes. Below is a summary of our performance against Western Dubuque, which one all four team contests. Varsity BoysThis team is building and we had 2 new Varsity team members step up to the challenge and help this team. After being down over 200 pins after the individual games, this team pushed forward and out-bowled W. Dubuque by about hundred pins in the baker games. This shows the strength this team has within them. The Leader of the team is Nathan Harrelson for this week, shooting a great 416 series. Jordan struggled last year but has pushed herself with extra practice and gaining knowledge of the game which is starting to pay off.
