Both teams were happy with the individual and team scores. There were many personal bests for the 2018 season for all tonight. And it couldn't have been a closer meet! We used card backs to determine Rachel as the medalist. V-S was proud of our two freshmen, Lauren Murray and Abbye Hendryx, who have been steadily improving and who gave us our win tonight with their matching scores of 54! This proves the adage “Every stroke counts!” Rachel Tandy took putting honors with a terrific twelve. Our team's putting is improving. Lillie Lamont posted her best ever nine hole score on a par 35 course and birdied the #6 hole. Both Carli Lang and Jordan Pattee saw major drops in their scores.
Monday both teams will be at Rolling Hills Golf Course near Center Point for the annual eight team WaMaC West divisional tournament with a 3:00 start time. Tuesday Vinton-Shellsburg will host Benton at Wildcat Golf Course in Shellsburg for a make up dual at 4:15.
