WATERLOO - Coach Rob Levis's Vinton-Shellsburg/CPU swimmers split a double dual meet Thursday at the Central Pool in Waterloo.

VS/CPU defeated Waterloo 86-70, and fell to Linn-Mar 95-72. The VS/CPU won six of the meet's 11 events, paced by Cyrus Elwick and Carter Kirtz, who each one two. Elwick took the freestyle sprints, winning the 50 in 23.63 and the 100 in 56.69. Kirtz won the 500 freestyle in 5:35.31 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:06.69. Issac Allsup also added an individual first, taking the 100 backstroke in 1:02.29. VS/CPU's 200 freestyle relay of Brayden Schleif, Kirtz, Allsup and Alex Mancinas opened the meet by winning in a time of 1:52.92.
