The Vinton-Shellsburg Vikette volleyball team (2-1) took on the Beckman Catholic Blazers (1-0) at Beckman Catholic High School in Dyersville on Aug. 26 and were defeated in four sets, 3-1 (25-14, 22-25, 25-15, 25-18).The Vikettes were led by junior outside hitter Brylee Bruce who had 20 assists, three total blocks, 15 digs, and 0.0 service aces in three attempts. Senior Sam Walton recorded a .321 hitting percentage with 2.5 kills.
