Benton defeats Vikings 21-7

VINTON - The Vinton-Shellsburg Viking varsity football team (2-4, 1-1 Class 3A District 4) took on the Benton Bobcats (5-1, 2-0 Class 3A District 4) at the Karr Athletic Complex for their homecoming game on Oct. 1 and were defeated 21-7.

Senior Kaden Kingsbury led the Vikings with 93 yards passing on an 11/16 passing night for a touchdown. Junior Benett Rickels had four attempts for 15 rushing yards and had a touchdown reception, senior Kale Schulte led the Vikings with 48 yards receiving on four catches. Junior Curtis Erickson logged 8.0 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and one interception.
