Three days after seeing the 25-year-old 200 Freestyle record fall, the Stormin' Vikings saw two more records go down in back-to-back events Tuesday night in Grinnell as the team split duals with host Grinnell and Oskaloosa.

Carter Kirtz captured the 500 Free in a school-record time of 5:08.87, bettering the previous mark of 5:14.39 set by Matt Lehman in 2005. Moments after finishing that swim, Kirtz was a part of the 200 Free Relay which knocked down yet another record. The team of Brayden Schlief, Ian Vrba, Kirtz and Ian Allsup turned in a blazing time of 1:34.90, improving their season-best by nearly 1.5 seconds, while eclipsing the old record of 1:35.41 set in 1998 by Dominick, Forsyth, L. Forgy and Gordon.

Swimming short-handed with illness and injury keeping several guys out of the line-up, the Stormin' Vikes managed 21 new personal best times in falling to Grinnell and defeating Oskaloosa. In addition to Kirtz's 500 win, other event winners were the Medley Relay of Schlief, Kirtz, Allsup and Vrba, Allsup in the 50 Free and 100 Free and Kirtz in the 100 Breast.

Weather permitting the team travels to Fort Dodge Saturday for a large invitational including Sioux City, Waterloo, Spencer, Carroll, Atlantic, Decorah, Newton, and Fort Dodge. The team returns home for senior night Tuesday the 18th at 4:30 vs Williamsburg at the Braille School pool.
