A cold but sunny Sunday greeted over 20 race teams and scores of fans to the streets of Vinton for the second annual Benton County Speedway Car Show, sponsored by the RonDaVoo Lounge & Deli and Vinton Unlimited.
Over 170 drivers and fans voted for their favorite car in the IMCA Modified, Stock Car, Hobby Stock, SportMod and Sport Compact divisions.
Winners in the Cassill Motors IMCA Modified division were the number 33D of Scott Hogan and the number 25 of Shawn Fisher.
Trophies in the RonDaVoo Lounge & Deli IMCA Stock Car Division were awarded to the number 56T of Justin Temeyer and the number 3T of Scooter Dulin.
The DS Repair IMCA SportMod division saw the number 3R of Danny Dvorak and 3D of Drew FIsh as best appearing cars.
Taking top prize in the Dominator Chassis IMCA Hobby Stock division were the number 45 of Justin Wacha and number 25 of Doug Laughridge.
Winners in the Gary's Auto IMCA Sport Compact division included the number 11 of Steve Miedke and number 57k of Ross Kitner.
Racing at the Speedway starts Sunday, April 3, as the third stop of a triple header Frostbuster weekend special. Gates open at 3pm with racing at 4pm. Grandstand admission for the Frostbuster special is $12 for adults and $5 for kids ages 6-10.
Weekly points racing will commence on Sunday, April 10. Gates will open at 3:30pm with racing at 5pm during the month of April. Starting May 1st gates will open at 4pm and racing will start at 5:30pm.
Weekly grandstand admission is $10 for adults and $4 for kids 6-10. Ages 5 and under are free with a paid adult.
Tuesday, May 10th, the Speedway will host opening night of the Hawkeye Dirt Tour. Grandstands will open at 5:30pm with racing at 6:45pm. Rain date for the Hawkeye Dirt Tour will be Thursday, May 12th.
