The Vinton-Shellsburg volleyball team defeated Independence on Tuesday night, but it took them the full five games to win the match. Game scores were:

     The Vikettes improve their record on the year to 5-1. Their only loss was to Roland Story during the weekend Meskwaki Tournament. They travel to W. Dubuque tomorrow.
