Sports : Alumni Football team donates to VS football, cheerleading programs

Randy Scheel and other alumni players presented checks to coaches Pat Farley and Randi Walker.

The Vinton-Shellsburg Alumni Football team raised $800 for Vinton-Shellsburg athletic programs during its July game at Center Point Urbana. Captain Randy Scheel and several players attended the Friday Homecoming game and presented donations of $300 to the football program and $500 to the cheerleading program. The cheerleaders joined alumni cheerleaders at the July event.

The VS alumni are planning a rematch next year, where they hope to avenge the loss at Center Point. Next year, the game will take place in Vinton at a date to be chosen later.
