Sports : Eighth grade boys win VSMS Invite May 4 at Karr Complex

The Vinton-Shellsburg 8th grade boys won the 8th Grade title at the Little Viking Invitational May 4, in Vinton. Center Point-Urbana took second.

Chase Overton won the discus event and set a new school record of 140 feet, 9 inches. His throw was more than 30 feet longer than any other competitor. He also won the 100- and 200- meter dashes and the 800 meter run.
