Sports : Vikette athletes Strong, Randall receive post-season honors

Vinton-Shellsburg Vikettes Ashley Strong (softball) and Erin Randall (golf) have received honors after enjoying successful seasons.

Strong, a 2012 VS graduate, was named to the Iowa High School Girls Athletic Union Class 4A Northeast All-District Team as well as the Third-Team All-State Team. She will play softball and vollleyball at Southwest Community College next year.

Randall, a junior at VSHS, received All-District honors from the Iowa Girls Coaches Association. This is her second straight year to receive that honor, says VSHS girls golf coach Janet Woodhouse. She was among those named to the Class 3A Southeast All-District Team.
