The Vinton-Shellsburg football team heads into district play next week with a 1-1 record following Friday's loss at home to South Tama.
The Viking offense struggled throughout the first half, as the Trojans built a 27-0 lead. Max Griffith and Tanner Spies scored the Vikings touchdowns on passes from Grant Sagan. Sagan and Chase Overton shared QB duties until Overton was injured late in the second quarter.
The Vikings host Oelwein as their district season begins next Friday, Dec. 7. Fans are asked to wear bright neon shirts.
