The Benton County Speedway season starts with a car show in downtown Vinton and practice to follow at the fairgrounds on Saturday, March 30th.
The fourth annual car show, brought to you by the RonDaVoo, will be from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on 5th Street between 1st and 2nd Avenue. Everyone is welcome to come see the cars up close and vote for their favorites. All weekly IMCA classes are expected to be on display, including Modifieds, Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks, Northern SportMods and Sport Compacts. Drivers and fans are welcome at the fairgrounds after the show for a practice session until 5pm. Grandstand admission for the practice session will be free. On Easter Sunday, March 31st, the gates will open at 2pm for the Spring Shakedown. Hot laps are at 3:30pm and racing will begin at 4pm. Adult grandstand admission is $10 and kids 6-12 are $4. Due to construction under the grandstands limited concessions will be available during the first night of racing. Easter treats for Lil' Racer members will be provided, courtesy of the Speedway concessions staff. Kids are encouraged to sign up for the free Lil' Racer Car Club. Special activities for kids in the Car Club will take place throughout the year, including Christmas in July, bike races and contests.
