Lauren Tandy led the Vinton-Shellsburg girls golf team for the first time in her career, shooting a 45 as the Vikettes finished second in a home invitational tournament against Williamsburg, West Delaware and Independence, Friday at the Vinton County Club.

V-S Individual Scores;

Non counters: Natalie Ketchen, Kaiti Kilpatrick

Lauren Tandy had her first ever V-S team's lowest score with a fine 45; she was followed closely by Cara Hach shooting 46. Cara has been strong and consistent for varsity this year. Erin Randall finished at 47 and Mara Jessen shot 52 for our counters. It was an up and down night; some of our girls shot very well, a couple were disappointed in their scores. Mara Jessen had low putts with 15.

V-S is now 21 – 2 overall.

V-S JV:

Olivia Walker 57

Alyssa Bunge 58

Kacie Struve 66

Maddy Elwick 68

Sierra Goodell noncounter

Total 249

We’ve seen our JV scores improve. If we work to reduce our putts, they’ll continue to drop. Olivia Walker has been medalist for JV the last two meets. Williamsburg brought only three JV participants.
