Sports : Area girls play in Girls State Jr. Golf Tournament; Lauren Tandy earns 2nd place

Lauren Tandy and Erin Randall played in the Girls State Junior Tournament last week at the Ottumwa Country Club. It is a two day 36 hole tournament with elite Iowa participants; the tourney is sponsored by the Iowa Women's Golf Association. (Vinton has hosted this tourney twice; the last time five years ago during the flood of 2008!) Lauren finished second in her age division. Scorecards/results can be found HERE. Kaiti Kilpatrick played in the first of the Cedar Rapids Optimists tournaments last week on June 11 at Airport National Golf Course. She scored an 88 for her 18 holes.
