Clingman Pharmacy customers can now fill prescriptions at the business's new temporary home in the old City Lite Yogurt building downtown. The Clingman pharmacists began filling prescriptions Saturday in the new temporary home of Clingman Pharmacy, at the intersection of 4th Street and A Avenue. The former home of City Lite Yogurt will be the pharmacy location until Jon Clingman determines the long-term plan for replacing the building destroyed in last month's fire. Meanwhile, on the north side of 4th Street, in the former Birker Bows/Iowa Crafters building, the flooring crew Michael & Dowd were busy installing flooring in the building which the business will soon use at its temporary home. Dave Boisen, one of those flooring workers, was also on the scene as a Vinton firefighter when he watched the building burn down
"It was tough to see Ron And Kay and Lisa that night," said Boisen. "I felt helpless. We firefighters tried to get upstairs from the alley but it was really hot and we were losing that battle. And then to have to go see them and say, 'Sorry,' it was very emotional for us all."
Boisen's brother Jason, took a photo of Dave and his wife, Melissa after Dave had left the building.
"That photo meant a lot," says Boisen. "We all had a lot of tears."
Signs for both businesses have been placed on the storefronts of their temporary homes.
